Results of the Query Letter Contest 11/18/2009

Well, I didn't win the query letter contest (www.kidlit.com). The folks who did wrote very good query letters and deserved to win. However, I found it interesting that only one of the winners wrote a query letter following the style Mary Kole, the agent who sponsored the contest, suggested in an article on her site. My conclusion: It doesn't matter whether one follows the style she suggested as long as you write a damn good letter, which makes sense. The winners did. Congrats to them!

    Author

I'm a writer, a reader, an amateur artist, a science fiction and fantasy fan, an Egyptology enthusiast, the youngest child and only girl in a family of three children, a woman who found happiness in her second marriage, and someone who's looking forward to retirement when she'll work for herself. Oh, and I'm the goddess Denise according to the One World Tree (see Chez Timpko News 2006 on my Home page).
